Since March 2020 I have been very fortunate and privileged to be able to work from home. It’s not that I don’t like the office, I just REALLY enjoy working from home and love the countertop workspace in my white kitchen.
I may love to travel, but I am undoubtedly a homebody.
Like most of the home photos pinned to my Pinterest boards, I love an office that is white, calming, and with a touch of glamour. If not white, the walls need to at least be a soft neural. I find anything beyond an off-white, greige, or light-grey to be distracting.
You can always get creative with the furniture.
Organization is also really important to me. I for one find a cluttered desk and environment to be very unproductive. Give me storage options, please.
In university, if I really wanted to procrastinate, I would go all Monica Geller by cleaning and tidying my room before studying for an exam or working on a project.
Lastly, but certainly not least, natural lighting is definitely something to maximize if you can. I have worked in offices with and without natural light, and the ambience is just staggering.
I love my window so much.
Granted that you have a bit more square footage, than my little downtown home, I have gathered a handful of workspace ideas that can either be added to or shared with an existing space.
