evergreen beauty products that you can find at Sephora

As per typical Canadian weather, what I love to wear in the summer doesn’t always work as well during the winter months. However, this is not the case in terms of my daily beauty product lineup. After a recent scan over my inventory, with the exception of a few seasonal additions, it turns out that almost all of my favourite beauty products are in fact evergreen and are worn throughout the year.

As such, I have gone into a bit of a deep dive in terms of my favourite products that I am currently loving and have recommended to friends and family. You may recall some of my favourites mentioned in past blog posts.

Whether you are shopping Sephora’s latest savings event or need to freshen up your own inventory, from skincare to fragrances, I’m sharing the essentials that I absolutely must on hand for spring, summer, fall, and winter.

Below you will find everything categorized under:

  1. SKINCARE
  2. MAKEUP
  3. HAIR
  4. BATH & BODY
  5. FRAGRANCE

Consider this as my master shopping list for evergreen beauty essentials that I purchase at Sephora all through the year.

Also, because I am super paranoid about what goes on my skin, you can rest assured that each and every item listed under SKINCARE, MAKEUP, HAIR, and BODY is free of parabens and/or categorized as a clean product.

Evergreen Skincare

Cleanse

I keep this purifying cleanser in my shower and use the foam cleanser in the morning and at night. Both cleansers have a great lather, very fresh scents, and are friendly to sensitive and acne prone skin.

Sometimes I will switch things up with my oil based cleanser (recommended by my naturopath) in the mornings.

This light exfoliation cleanser, that I also keep in the shower, is another great cleanser option.

Exfoliate

This unconventional exfoliator was recommended to me for removing fine lines (bla!) and so far it’s lived up to the hype.

On the other hand, Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Brightening Daily AHA Micropeel is very much underrated. I still find it hard to believe that such a light foam formula can brighten, exfoliate, and eliminate dead skin cells. If your skin is sensitive like mine, you only need to use this exfoliator twice a week.

I try to use a purifying mask 1-2 times a week. I have tried both the clay and charcoal masks and honestly, I like them both. It’s really a matter of preference.

This deep exfoliating cleaner is another gem that I keep in the shower only need to use it about 1-2 times a week.

Hydrate

I have also been loving this Caudalie toner since adding it to my skincare rotation.

I am slightly obsessed with this multi-action face mist. It not only hydrates and helps preps your skin for makeup… but it is also amazing for setting your makeup. I totally get the hype now.

Either the First Aid Beauty or Caudalie are an excellent choice, if you’re needing a light yet extra hydrating moisturizer to apply before a primer. With that being said, I am curious to try this even lighter moisturizer for the spring and summer months.

I just started using this night moisturizer with retinol (alternative) benefits and so far I’ve been really pleased with it. My bestie is obsessed with her cream moisturizer from LaNeige and I kind of want to try it too.

1-2 times a week I apply this hydrating mask, after removing the clay one, and leave on overnight. I also really want to give this moisture barrier strengthening mask a try.

Retinol Alternative

Seconds after discovering lines on my forehead, within months of turning 30, I went on a retinol deep dive and started with this bakuchiol + peptides serum. It’s a lot less abrasive and would recommend as a first step if you have sensitive skin. I just started using this Caudalie retinol alternative with the night cream and I have already been seeing slight results.

The Tatcha serum also looks like a great retinol alternative option.

Acne & Scarring

Confirming that these Caudalie and Glow Recipe serums are equally gentle yet effective options to help with those hormonal breakouts.

A little bit of this spot remover goes a long way in helping remove any acne and blemish spots. I also have been loving this treatment for post-blemish colour correcting.

I have tried both of the salicylic acid dots from Peace Out and Blume. Both work well for helping get rid of stubborn blemishes. If I had to choose, I think I prefer the Blume ones for overnight.

This serum really helps fade out those stubborn scars and spots that need to go away.

Lip Care

Your lips need to be exfoliated too… trust me they will thank you.

Equally delightful and nourishing, the Ilia and Fresh lip masks are on rotation at my bedside table.

My trusted sources have also given me raving recommendations about the LANEIGE ones.

Evergreen Makeup

Face

A primer may not be a very glamourous purchase, but it is an essential one. I just recently started using this Too Faced one that was recommended and appreciate how light it is. I also have heard great things about the Smashbox primer.

Either the SPF 30 tinted moisturizer (OPAL 01) or the SPF 15 loose powder (FAIR) are great foundation options that offer extra sun protection.

I keep a Too Faced (SWAN) foundation on hand for days when I need extra coverage.

While I am always curious to try the latest concealer option, I almost always end up coming back to this one (AFFOGATO)… it’s just so good.

If you’re also not a fan of a heavy blush look, then you too may love this blurring powder blush (HEAD IN THE CLOUDS)

… if you prefer a cream blush, I’d suggest Merit’s clean and subtle cream option (SOFT PEACH).

I love having my highlighter and bronzer all in one compact. I recently purchased this Charlotte Tilbury compact. The Too Faced one is also great option.

Eye Makeup

As I absolutely must always have this (EBONY) eyebrow pencil on hand, it truly is one of my evergreen beauty essentials.

My auntie introduced me to this Dior mascara (090 BLACK) when I was a teenager and I haven’t looked back since. My favourite waterproof mascara is also Dior.

I rarely wear eyeliner (ZERO or SMOKE) but when I do it has to be waterproof

Morning or night, the neutral shades in this eyeshadow palette have you covered.

Setting Powder & Spray

The Too Faced and BareMinerals ones are equally solid setting powder options.

One of my besties swears by this Laura Mercier one.

… if you prefer a pressed setting powder

Currently my favourite setting spray to lock my makeup in place. I love the slight added blurred effect. While the Urban Decay setting spray remains a best seller, I would not overlook Caudalie’s face mist.

Lip Balm

I have lost count of how many times I have recommended this lip treatment. I also really love this lighter honey one from Farmacy. Because it doesn’t melt or freeze, I keep an Ilia lip balm in my car throughout the year.

Hair Care

Shampoo & Conditioner

A basic and colour friendly shampoo, for all hair types, that I keep within my rotation. Confirming that this shampoo also works really well with fine hair.

The conditioner is just as simple and reliable as the shampoo. For fine hair this is another great conditioner option.

Whether or not you have extensions, this detangler offers a little extra help.

Confirming that this dry shampoo is brunette and black hair friendly (I’ve had both). I would also consider giving this one a try.

Hair Mask

That glossy hair mask look in less than 30 seconds… and no I’m not kidding.

An intense hydrating and repair mask that doesn’t weigh down my hair. My love for honey really wants me to add this honey infused one to my hair mask rotation.

Style Prep

I apply this dual action anti-frizz and heat protectant cream and high gloss serum immediately after my hair has been washed.

A dual heat protectant and anti-frizz spray, this has been my go-to for protecting my hair from all of my hot styling tools for quite some time.

I’ve been applying a touch of this lightweight oil to the ends of my hair for years. This dry conditioning oil is even lighter and I apply it last, or second last if I am using hairspray. I have also heard great reviews regarding this bottle of oil shine drops from JVN and am very tempted to try it.

Hair Spray

An everyday hairspray that I love to use for keeping soft curls intact after curling and lightly brushing them out. I bring out this hairspray for when I need an extra long lasting hold for events and occasions.

Bath & Body

Exfoliate

I admittedly am still on the hunt for a favourite body scrub. As I am LOVING their body cream, this Caudalie exfoliator is next on my list.

I also want to try Herbivore’s Amethyst and Rose body exfoliating options.

Wash

Wash and lightly exfoliate with this multitasking body soap bar.

Rich in almond oil, that will lather into a milk-like texture, this is a luscious treat for your skin. Meanwhile, Ouai offers a lovely and light body cleanser option.

Add a little extra to your bath time with a calming bath bomb or a touch of this soak.

This lavender bubble bath is divine.

Hydrate

I currently have this lotion at my home workspace. The L’Occitane one is also excellent.

I recently bought this cream to help counteract any uninvited cellulite.

The L’Occitane and Sol De Janeiro creams are also fantastic.

I keep this shea butter hand cream nearby during the day and apply an even richer one before bed.

Evergreen Fragrances

A powdery floral that will work for each and every season.

I feel like this fragrance makes everything seem just a bit sweeter.

While this is a warm floral scent, it is pleasantly light.

I suppose this is technically a spring and summer scent, but that hasn’t stopped me from wearing it all year long

A sweet and classic floral scent that I keep at my office desk.

Simple and endearing, this evergreen fragrance will add a little extra beauty to your day all through the year.
